This Polynesian turtle tattoo was prepared for Schack as a memorial tattoo to honor his brother.
We used a turtle as the main shape as it´s a symbol for family, and it includes a manta made by a tiki to symbolize his brother: the manta is a symbol for freedom, and the tiki is a protector, holding a Marquesan cross here to symbolize he´ll guard upon the harmony of the family.
The frigate above it represents a higher perspective.
The two brothers are symbolized by the two enata, with braids for family unity to show that even if one brother has left (the flight of the albatross) he will always be part of the family. A letter F for his name is incorporated within the front of the tiki.
We added spearheads and octopus tentacle on the left front flipper for strength, tenacity and adaptability, while the sun made of shark teeth around the turtle is for protection and joy.
The mere that shapes the head of the turtle is a symbol for the leader, respect and honesty.
