This Polynesian halfsleeve and shoulder blade tattoo was prepared for Nick, and it was designed to integrate an existing tattoo on the back and to follow the lines of his muscles around a bigger sun positioned on his deltoid.
The shoulder is slightly separated from the arm part to enhance its look, with a compass giving him direction being the bigger round element covering the shoulder.
The design on the front is a banana pod symbolizing unity, and similar meaning have the braids, while the other elements symbolize the warrior, strength, fighting spirit, prosperity and protection.
Birds symbolize voyage and higher perspective.
On the back of the arm, a double spiral made of two koru symbolizes the encounter and union between him and his wife.
The motif on top of the shoulder blade represents a row of heroes going to battle and we placed it there to symbolize his squad, ready to fight fire and any challenge they may face.
The centipede below them symbolizes fighting spirit and it was chosen to represent the squad since it was believed to be made of several indipendent units all joined as one single entity.
The octopus tentacles above and below it are for tenacity and adaptability.
Fish and coconut leaves are symbols of prosperity.
The colored legenda below helps identifying the individual elements within the tattoo:
