Alessandro requested a tiki design representing his mother (the frangipani flower symbolizes femininity) and the voyage that makes her become the protector of their family (she holds in her arms a turtle symbolizing familly). The manaia on the turtle´s shell underlines her role as a guardian angel.
From the bottom, opposing waves and a moray eel symbolize difficulties to be faced, an illness that led to a difficult path (the path of Kamehameha) which finally ends with freedom (the manta forming the upper part of the tiki head).
The sun represents her positivity and spear heads represent the fighting spirit she used to face this trial, her voyage being represented by the row of birds.
