Originally, the phoenix represented the sun, which fades in a burning sky every day beyond Earth´s borders, and is born again on the following day in all its renewed fiery glory. In time it has inherited the more generical meaning of rebirth, according to the legend by which the aging phoenix burns in fire in order to grow young again from its own ashes.
